Woolshed Pub, Melbourne

A couple of weekends ago we headed into the city as we had free tickets to see Collingwood play. We met up with some of Ray's family for dinner at the Woolshed Pub beforehand. We decided to go there as it was nice and close to Etihad, and I was pretty impressed with their website. It pays for businesses to put some money into developing a good website as I think this can play a big role in their image and whether people decide to go dine there or not.

It's not what you would call your traditional pub, more like a modern restaurant and bar. We were seated outside which was a bit hot, it would have been better if they had some fans out there. Now that the weather has cooled down a little in Melbourne, it's hard to believe how hot it was! The music they were playing was not to my taste, and didn't seem to match the surroundings (think 90's but in a bad way, not in a fun nostalgic way). The food was good though! I ordered the crispy flounder with green mango chilli salad which was on the specials board. It was absolutely delicious! The salad was nice and refreshing on a hot day. Hubby got the burger which came with a side of chunky potato wedges, this was apparently quite nice too. I thought the "pub" was very nice, and I would be happy to come back.

After we finished up eating, we headed over to the stadium to watch Collingwood play. It was Ray's mum and his aunty, uncle and cousin's first time at the footy, and unfortunately it wasn't the best match. We will have to make sure we take them again now that the real season has started. Go Pies!!!!!!!!! ;)
